Legacy Software
Modernization

We modernize legacy business software across old Microsoft and web stacks - VB6, VB.NET, .NET Framework, classic ASP.NET, WinForms, WPF, WebForms, WCF, SOAP, stored procedures, and other hard-to-maintain systems - without disrupting operations.

Do You Recognize This?

Signs Your Legacy System Has Become a Liability

These are the patterns we see in legacy modernization engagements. The stack can vary, but the business symptoms are usually the same: fragile releases, limited hiring, slow change, and growing operational risk.

VB6, VB.NET, Visual Basic, or old C# applications that only a few people understand
.NET Framework applications that need a path to modern .NET / .NET Core
WinForms, WPF, WebForms, classic ASP.NET, or old desktop/web apps that can't evolve
WCF, SOAP, COM+, or custom API integrations nobody wants to touch
Massive stored procedure libraries with no documentation
Fragile deployment processes taking days or weeks
Access, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or mixed database designs that grew without architecture
Zero automated test coverage and regression fear

Our Method

The Strangler Fig Approach

We don't assume a full rewrite. We migrate incrementally using the strangler fig pattern where it fits - wrapping the old system, replacing it piece by piece, and decommissioning only when the new system is proven.

Phase 1Weeks 1-3

Technical Archaeology

Full inventory across code, database, jobs, APIs, reports, integrations, and deployment scripts. We map what exists before recommending whether to migrate, refactor, wrap, or selectively rewrite.

Phase 2Weeks 4-8

Strangler Fig Foundation

Modern .NET / ASP.NET Core foundation around the existing system: API layer, adapters, automated tests, CI/CD, and routing infrastructure before production behavior is moved.

Phase 3Months 3-12

Incremental Migration

Module by module, domain by domain. Each migration is a separate, releasable unit. The old system shrinks. The new system grows. Business never stops.

Phase 4Final Phase

Decommission & Optimize

Legacy system retired. New platform hardened with observability, performance tuning, and documentation. Engineering team handed full ownership.

Start with a Legacy Assessment

In 2-3 weeks, we produce a full technical audit, architecture map, risk register, and phased roadmap with real estimates. Enough to make an informed decision.
